Andy has over 20 years of varied work with young people, teams and leaders. He is passionate about releasing leaders into all that God has for them, as well as being committed to enabling young people to live out lives knowing the hope and love of the living God. Andy is a very keen Man United fan, plays the guitar and enjoys athletics. He is currently undertaking training for a marathon.

Vanessa (Ness) Brown - Assistant to the Director

Ness has worked with children and teenagers in a variety of settings throughout her working life. She joined the RolltheRock team, working one day a week, at the beginning of 2016. She works closely with Andy to help realise the vision of RolltheRock and regularly asks awkward questions (in a helpful sort of a way!).


Emma Wilson: Volunteer, Business Development

Emma comes to Rolltherock with a wealth of business experience. She brings an understanding of business which will help increase of resources we need to develop our work. Emma loves various crafts, and is an avid watcher of the Bake Off, and Master Chef.

Chloe: Volunteer, Communications 

Chloe is very creative in her understanding of communication, and has been supporting RolltheRock in its communications for a while. She is a keen watcher of Disney films and Tom Cruise films.

David Barker is a Methodist Minister and Chaplain to Ashville College in Harrogate. He has been involved in education in one way or another for 30 years, as Chair of a Youth Work project, as a teacher of Music and Religious Studies, as a school governor and as a parent. In his infrequent periods of spare time, he loves to cycle, play the flute and sing, though not always at the same time.

Mark Carey is Pioneer Minister of Kairos Network Church. Kairos has a base in Harrogate but works across a wide area releasing communities of disciples in the mission of Jesus. Husband of one, father of three, Mark is passionate about the revival and renewal of discipleship amongst God’s people. He is also, much to Andy’s disgust, an Arsenal fan.

Nic Sheppard

Nic Sheppard is a Church Army Evangelist and is employed by the Church of England Diocese of West Yorkshire & The Dales as a Youth Work Adviser. Working from home in Wetherby, Nic has always been a keen supporter and had a close association with RollTheRock since its beginnings.

Rich Atkinson

Rich Atkinson is married to Lizzie and they have a 1 year old daughter Beatrice. Rich founded the Forge network in Sheffield which grew as a youth ministry from around 60 young people to well over 800 today through pioneering youth Missional Communities. Rich is now the team leader of REBUILD which resources kids, youth, student and young adult workers across Europe to see what some have called the missing generation of the church become the REBUILDing generation of the church. Rich loves Roll the Rock as it is a key ministry serving heroes that reach a generation of young people. 

Ben Askew

Ben is married to Helen and lives in Harrogate with their two children.  He is Pioneer Curate at Kairos Network Church.  He is passionate about seeing people reach their full potential as disciples of Jesus.  He is a bit of a history geek who also likes watching birds in his garden,  Sci-Fi Films and discovering new music.
