ROLLTHEROCK VISION DOCUMENT CREATING NEW REALITIES INTRODUCTION This document will outline principles that underpin all that RolltheRock is, as well as outline work that we believe that God has called us too. We shall endeavour to cement foundations already established in our work, and outline appropriate areas for building, as well as outline new areas of work where grounding and development will take place. Some factors such as our faith, and our believes have not changed, but it is important to recognise the current position of RolltheRock, and identify future key roles for our work. Creating New Realities, the title of this vision, recognises the fact that God moves things on, gives new vision, creates new openings, and establishes a new depth of relationship. Creating new realities, in essence will mean developing new relationships, enabling new projects, and at its heart create new environments for young people to embrace and accept the love of God. AIMS AND OBJECTIVES 1: To ensure that God is centred in all aspects of our work. OUTREACH Since the conception of RolltheRock reaching out to those who haven’t yet experienced the love of God has been central to our existence. We have supported various events, built links with 4 local schools: King James, Ashville College, Harrogate Ladies College, and Rossett, put on a variety of events, and have seen hundreds of young people acknowledge the existence of God and establish a meaningful relationship with him. VISION 1: To maintain, and where possible, build upon existing relationships in schools.
Over these past years RolltheRock in conjunction with local churches have trained approximately 15 young people through the Art of Connecting course. We have also taken a small amount of youth leaders training as well. Further to this we have also had a young person work with us for a year, and they have returned to us for their placement at College. OUR VISION 1: Where requested we shall provide further Art of Connecting courses for young people. COMMUNICATION RolltheRock has endeavoured to ensure a high quality of communication with all those related to our work, whether it be through fliers, the internet, or through our newsletters. We have also enjoyed great links with various local Christian agencies as well as national ones. VISION 1: We will ensure a high quality of communication through all aspects of our work. ACCOUNTABILITY Since the outset of RolltheRock, accountability has been extremely important to us. We understand our accountability to God, our supporters, and we have also established a reference group to ensure we stay on track, as well as an external accountant to ensure quality and proper accounting. VISION 1: To ensure a high level of accountability is maintained throughout RolltheRock. FUNDING Throughout our existence, our funding support base has grown to just over 40 different individual, and organisational supporters. This support ranges from monthly support, through to annual support from organisations and trusts. We are also privileged in the fact that we have a number of people praying for our work, ensuring that all aspects of RolltheRock are covered. VISION 1: to develop a stronger prayer base for our work. CONCLUSION At the heart of this document lies the desire to see people released into being the people that God wants them to be. Enabling people to explore and develop without fear of failure, condemnation or restriction. Creating a new reality where youth leaders and young people alike can deepen their relationship with God, and embrace in greater assurance the love that he has for them, as well as the purpose he has for their lives. We want to establish a reality where Christianity is seen to be relevant, exciting, interesting and something worth committing too. We want to see a generation that knows and values the love that God has for them, and knows how to express that relationship in relevant ways in their lives and to their friends. A generation that doesn’t keep their faith to themselves, but sees it worked out in practice in a way that impacts the lives of people around them to the extent that they are thoughtfully and sensitively challenged. We want to equip, inspire and enable youth leaders and young people alike to bring a change to the communities and contexts that they live in. To see Christ centred locally, nationally and internationally to challenge and change current cultures and bring people into relationship with him. |
