Resource Funding

We have ideas to create a number of resources that will enable youth leaders to engage better with their young people around issues of identity and discipleship. We are also keen to develop resources to help leaders themselves, as they grow in their roles.

We are now looking for individuals to invest in the creation of these resources.

We need 20 people to invest £50 each into RolltheRock as a one-off gift, to enable us to explore these initiatives further.

Could you be one of those people?

If you would like to invest in the development of creative resources that enable young people and youth leaders to grow, please email and let us know that you want to be one of our resource resourcers!

Our hope is to launch these resources in the Spring, so please do consider this and let us know as soon as you can if you are able to support us in this way.

Bless you and, in advance, thanks.

Travelling Encounters

So, today whilst waiting for a train, I was approached by a young man who asked if I was Andy. When I responded yes, he then informed me that he recognised me from a time I went into the school he attended. He told me my input through assemblies and services and time in the school had helped him gain an idea of what he wanted to be and do; he said how he had felt inspired and encouraged to follow his dreams, and was now at second year university. I thanked him for coming and talking to me, but this was not the end of the encounters.

Later, another young man came up to me and commented how moved he was seeing the other guy come up and talk to me about the difference I had made in his life. This second guy asked what I did for a living, and so I told him. It turned out he worked for Time For God as a field worker. We then shared some stories on the train and prayed for each other.

We never really do know the difference we make in people’s lives when they see something of us, and it is always worth remembering that people are watching, observing how we live, how we deal with things, whether we live up to what we say. We can always make a difference in people’s lives.

Mentoring leaders

It is great to be able to announce a new project that we are involved in, which will be launching later this year.

Through a partnership between the Bible Society in Australia, YFC International and ourselves, a new app is being launched this year, where young people can go to ask questions about faith and life.

There will be a variety of ways that this will work within the app, but what is exciting for us, is that young people can ask questions in a safe environment and young leaders will respond to those questions.

So what part are we playing?
To start with, there will be 24 young leaders under the age of 30 from across the world, responding to the questions sent in. Our role is to mentor them to ensure they have the space and time to grow as leaders, but also to explore any issues that may come up through this process.

As soon as this app is officially launched, we will send out information for young people to engage with it, but it is exciting to know that all the appropriate safe-guarding will be in place and there will be space available for young people to work things out, ask those questions and have help to process them. For us, it will be great to support young leaders, help them grow and enable them to work through their own questions, as they in turn support and enable others do the same.

So, we ask for your prayers for the following, please:
1: An increase of young leaders to support and answer questions that the young people send in.

2: That young people will engage with this and ask the questions.

3: That we will be able to raise up other mentors to support the young leaders.

4: That extra support, particularly in terms of finance, comes our way to enable us to take on this project and mentor these young leaders appropriately.

Remembering the dream

Often when doing something for a while, it is possible to unintentionally forget what some people have siad, or spoken into your life.
A number of years ago i had a picture shared with me, about stadning under a tree, with a shepherd’s crook, gathering sheepdog’s to guide lots of sheep all around the field that I was in.
This last week, I have been reminded of this picture, when someone was speaking abut dreams, and dreams that God has spoken into, or over us, and this particular picture I had forgotten, but it was broumind very vividly.
Finishing the Leaders conference last week, was a time when I felt re-invisioned, re-inspired, and even re-called into what God had called me, but more Rolltherock to be about.
Rolltherock is no longer just me, Andy, and for that I am so thankful, and Ness is such a blessing to all that we are about.  Our prayer as we move forward is that we start to see many sheep in the field, but also many shepherds, and that we can release, support, guide, thsoe shepherds in all that god has for them.
